We Accept All Wildlife – Supporting Our Native Animals
At The Village Vet, we are committed to helping injured, sick, or displaced wildlife. If you come across an animal in distress, the best first step is to contact a licensed wildlife rescue organisation, such as WIRES (1300 094 737) or Sydney Wildlife Rescue (9413 4300), for expert advice.
If the animal requires urgent veterinary care, we are here to help. We provide emergency treatment and stabilisation, and work alongside wildlife carers to ensure the best chance of rehabilitation and release. If you’re unsure about what to do, give us a call, and we can guide you on the best course of action.

What to Do If You Find Injured Wildlife
✔ Call WIRES or Sydney Wildlife Rescue First – They have trained carers who can guide you on what to do.
✔ Do Not Touch Large or Dangerous Animals – Avoid handling kangaroos, adult possums, bats, snakes, or birds of prey, as they can cause serious injury.
✔ Observe from a Distance – Check if the animal is truly in distress before intervening. In some cases, young animals may not be abandoned.
✔ If Safe, Contain the Animal – If the wildlife rescue team advises you to transport the animal, use a ventilated box with a towel and keep them in a warm, dark, and quiet space.
✔ Keep Handling to a Minimum – Wildlife stress easily. Avoid talking loudly or excessive movement.

Thank you to Elle and the entire team at Pymble Vet for the wonderful care of our dog, Tora. He has been coming here since he was a puppy and is now 10 years old.
Tora began experiencing skin issues last year, and we’re especially grateful to Elle for her caring, professional, and thorough treatment plans. She always goes the extra mile and takes the time to follow up on Tora’s progress, which gives us great peace of mind.
Martine and all the vets, nurses, and reception team are very friendly and compassionate. Highly recommend Pymble Vet.

I cannot recommend The Village Vet enough for anyone looking for a caring, professional, and trustworthy place for their pets.
They have been looking after my puppies so beautifully, and every visit has been such a positive experience. The environment is very warm, calm, clean, and welcoming, and all the staff are incredibly friendly, kind, and professional.
From the moment you walk in, you feel comfortable and confident that your pets are in safe hands. They genuinely care about animals and take the time to communicate properly, answer questions, and provide support whenever needed.
I also really appreciate their helpful reminders, follow-ups, newsletters, and updates, which show how organised and caring they are with pet care and customer service.
Thank you to the whole team for always making Dela and Dora feel loved and well looked after. Highly recommended!

Martine and her team are just awesome to both myself and my fur babies. All issues were diagnosed and treated immediately. They are friendly from the time we step into the practice, organised, timely reminders to make sure my fur babies are healthy and well. Martine goes all out to check on results and calling after hours for reassurance. They are passionate in what they do. So glad my fur babies are in good hands. Thank you Team Martine.

Ladybird and I began attending the Village Vet at both its Killara and Pymble locations as we were unhappy at our previous Sydney based vet.
I was warmly greeted and extremely happy with the open and friendly service I received as well as the excellent care my anxious little Shih Tzu obtained for her many health needs.
As Ladybird and I had recently moved from the US it was important to me that we found not only excellent medical care for her , but a vet who would understand the nuances of a little dog who had traveled across half the world and had a history of being a stray with an unknown beginning , arriving in a country which felt so different to the one she had come from.
Dr Martine and her staff have always had time to listen and investigate the behavioural patterns that I described Ladybird exhibited , so that after 5 years as a little Aussie , Ladybird has blossomed into the happy little dog I adopted back in the US eight years ago.
