How do you approach supporting and developing the team at The Village Vet?
At The Village Vet, supporting our team means making sure every staff member has the tools and encouragement to grow. We actively invest in ongoing training and further education for all of our staff, whether that’s formal courses, workshops, or in-clinic skill development. We also make time for mentoring and constructive feedback so that everyone feels confident in their role and has clear opportunities to progress.

What do you think makes the culture here stand out compared to other workplaces?
Our culture is built on genuine support and collaboration. We work hard, but we also look after each other, and that sense of teamwork shows every day. The Village Vet feels more like a community than just a workplace — we celebrate wins together, help each other through challenges, and make sure everyone feels valued for what they bring to the team.

How do you balance high standards of care with maintaining a supportive and positive environment for staff?
We’re proud of our high standards, but we know that the best care comes from a team that feels respected and supported. We balance this by fostering open communication and making sure expectations are clear, while also recognising the importance of flexibility, including with new parents returning to work, encouragement, and celebrating achievements. This allows us to deliver excellent veterinary care without compromising the wellbeing of our staff.

What do you enjoy most about working with the team at The Village Vet?
The people, without a doubt. I love working with a group of passionate, kind, and talented individuals who genuinely care about their patients and each other. Every day brings something different, and as with all vet hospitals, we have our days that barely stop, but knowing I have such a supportive and dedicated team through thick and thin makes it a real joy to be in this role as practice manager.
